Knockout Chardonnay nose here, with vibrant, expressive aromas of lemon curd and quince, betraying the presence of some subtle and very well-intregrated oak with a whiff of vanilla bean and toasted coconut the longer it sits in the glass. This is a wonderfully mid-weight Chardonnay, which has gained just the right amount of texture and density from barrel aging while remaining bright and lively. On the palate that lemon curd character really cuts through, complemented by a fine bead of acidity and some baking spices coming through on the finish. We think this wine is in a perfect place right now, striking a lovely balance between youthful fruit and complexity, but if you prefer your Chardonnays with a bit more of that honeyed, nutty character that starts to crop up around the 6-7 year mark, there's no reason why this wouldn't be up for the challenge
